The Lime Truck launched in June 2010, founded by chef Daniel Shemtob in Orange County, California. From day one the focus was California-Mexican fusion — made from scratch with an emphasis on local ingredients.

Winners of The Great Food Truck Race Season 2 in 2011, and again on the All-Stars champions edition in 2021 — one of only a handful of teams to win the competition twice.
2010

2011
The Lime Truck took home the top prize on Food Network's cross-country competition series. The win put the truck on a national stage and kicked off a rapid expansion to multiple trucks across Southern California.
2013 – 2016
Named one of the Top 5 Food Trucks in America by Yahoo Travel across multiple years, and recognized by OC Weekly as the Best Food Truck in Orange County.
2021
A decade after the original win, The Lime Truck returned for the All-Stars champions edition — a season pitting past winners against each other — and took the title again, making the team a two-time Food Network champion.
2025
After the Palisades wildfire, founder Daniel Shemtob partnered with World Central Kitchen to serve meals to evacuees and first responders impacted by the fires — a continuation of the team's long-standing commitment to the Southern California community.
